GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) and the construction company Samsung C&T have formed a strategic alliance to support the global deployment of the BWRX-300 small modular reactor (SMR). The partnership will focus on developing supply chains and improving project delivery for SMR projects in international markets outside North America.
Samsung C&T brings extensive experience in large-scale engineering and construction, including nuclear power projects such as the Barakah nuclear plant in the United Arab Emirates.
The collaboration also supports potential future projects, including the possible deployment of up to five BWRX-300 reactors in Sweden. Overall, the alliance aims to accelerate the commercial rollout of SMR technology and strengthen the global expansion of next-generation nuclear energy.
